Hi,
I'm planning to install some top and side brush seals I purchased for my garage door.
Being reletively new to DIY - I wanted to double check a few things:
1. I assume I need masonry bits to install into the garage wall material (photo of garage wall/material below)?
2. I have a Ryobi hammer drill - should I be starting on any specific settings to drill the holes required?
3. Do I need a stud finder to check for wires/pipes within the garage walls before I drill. The screws that came with the brush seals are approx. 25mm in length so assume it's unlikely to be an issue but thought I'd double check.
If there's anything else I should be mindful of before I start I'd appreciate the advice - thanks!

You will need a masonry drill bit to make the holes for your plugs and screws. The size of the bit should match the cylindrical part of the plug (the part under the wide head), so if your kit doesn’t specify, just hold the plug against the bit to check the fit.
Your Ryobi hammer drill is perfect for this. Switch it to the hammer function (usually marked with a hammer symbol) and drill at a slow, controlled speed and at about a quarter throttle. Drilling too fast can overheat and damage the bit.
A stud finder won’t help with wires or pipes inside a masonry wall, so you won’t have a reliable way to detect hidden services. That said, garage entrance walls rarely have wiring or plumbing in that area. If you’re unsure or want extra peace of mind, it might be worth having a handy person assist. Otherwise, follow the bit sizing and slow hammer-drill technique, and you should be able to securely fit your brush seals without issues.
