Are thin white worms OK for turf lawn?

We just had natural grass turf laid in the backyard and under it are tiny thin white worms in the soil. What are these worms? Is it okay for natural grass turf to have these worms? Thanks.

Re: Natural grass turf worm

Hi @PR,

It looks like a potworm, which is similar to an earthworm.

They are harmless to your lawn and are actually a good sign that the soil is healthy, moist, and rich in organic matter, which are all conditions that are essential for strong root establishment and long-term turf health.

They help to decompose organic matter and are contributors to a healthy soil ecosystem.

I wouldn't worry about it. There are a ton of creepy crawlies in healthy soil. They won't cause any trouble.
