hi there i had contemplated doing a brick border but now i’m contemplating doing a concrete kerbing border.
what are some things i should consider?
Hi @ameliam,
The process would be fairly similar whether you did a paved brick border or a concrete kerb border.
You'll want to start by excavating a trench around 100mm deep and 100mm wider than the concrete kerb. To this trench, you'll want to add compactable material such as road base or drainage gravel and then compact it with a tamper.
When installing the kerb, you can use a spirit level and a rubber mallet to set the kerb in place perfectly level and in line.
Outside of this, there's not much to it. Just an afternoon or two worth of hard work, and you will have a beautiful border for your yard.
Let me know what you think and if you have further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
