Hello! I am confused about how to put new line into my line trimmer. I have watched youtube videos and am getting mixed info on whether I have to pull an outer cap off the head to re-thread line, or just line up the arrows and push cord through? All of the initial line has gone as far as I can tell. The manual doesn’t make it as clear as what I would like either
The bump cap is yellow if that helps. Thank you
I also have a OL1833BL Ryobi line trimmer but its the older model bought about 2018? with the red cap, so sounds the same as @barydos . It does not come equipped with the Ryobi reel-easy speed-winder head, which going by the comments and diagram from the manual is included in the newer and current models of the OL1833BL.
Also the Ryobi replacement pre threaded spools aren't currently compatible with this model.
Its a bit of a fiddly job to refit line on it with the older head, but just in case you haven't already figured it out or bought the speed head;
How I do is unscrew the cap clockwise to unscrew (yes opposite thread) take out the reel, feed new cord through the hole in the middle, cut it when its got at least 3 meters on each side then wind the new cord on clockwise in the first slot then hook it in place so it doesn't unwind while do the same with the 2nd side of the cord in the other slot, then feed it into the outer casing before the damn thing unwinds on you. Fit the reel tightly into the outer casing then screw the cap on anti clockwise to tighten.
I will probably buy the Ryobi reel-easy speed-winder head, it looks a much easier.
going by this youtube clip (not mine)

it looks easy enough to install and should fit straight on the line trimmer.
Hopefully this helps
