Hi Brain Trust,
Please take a look at our kitchen cabinet :
How should we repair it ? Should we use filler to fill the hole first ?
What screw should we use ?
Thank you for any advice
Hi @ivanptr,
Thank you for your question about repairing cabinet hinges.
Start by removing the hinge and the green anchors. Once removed fill the holes with Builders Bog.
Once the bog has dried, predrill a 7mm hole using a suitable drill bit such as this Full Boar 7mm M2 HSS Drill Bit. You can use some tape wrapped around the drill bit as a depth gauge to ensure you don't drill through the outside face of the cabinet.
Now that you've predrilled holes, cut a Ramset 7 x 35mm Green Wall Plug to length so it sits flush with the chipboard.
There shouldn't be any need to replace the screws as they are the right length and finish to match the hinge.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
