How to cut kickboard for dishwasher install?

Hey everyone,

I am getting a dishwasher installed into a part of my kitchen that was open shelving. I have removed the shelving but now need to remove the kickboard.

What is the best way to do so? I obviously only want to remove this part of the kickboard and not the whole lot.

Re: Cutting out a certain part of the kickboard

Hello @Leighton17

Thanks for sharing your question about your kickboard. Generally speaking, if you can remove your kickboard from the kitchen assembly this would be the best way for you to cut the kickboard down. But if it is screwed and glued in place, I suggest drawing a cutting guide with a pencil on the surface and using an IRWIN 185mm Dovetail Pull Saw. The dovetail saw cuts on the pulling action and provides a very clean and fine cut on the surface. You can put masking tape over the section that is to be cut to prevent chipping on the edge of the cut.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Eric
