Re: how to remove paint from real wood cabinet?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Anu123. It's brilliant to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about removing paint from timber.

You'd need to sand the paint off the timber, which will be a somewhat tedious process considering the jointed panels. Getting into all the crevices will be difficult. You could use a paint stripper, but they can be pretty messy, and the cabinet doors will still require sanding to remove the remnants of paint.

Can I ask why you want to remove the paint? Typically, timber cabinetry like this is a prime candidate for painting, and if you were to update the handles, you'd have a more modern look than raw timber. Would it help if you finished painting the cabinetry and coated the inside of the doors? You can use Dulux Aquanamel for the inside of the doors.

I look forward to hearing more about your project and assisting further.

Mitchell
