Hi, we've got an unsealed bank bamboo bread box that is prone to getting mould in the walls. Is there a food safe, mould resistant stain or paint I could use to protect the timber? I'd appreciate any recommendations!
Hi @NJRog,
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.
I'm not aware of a stain or paint that is food safe, but you could use any of the following sealers to offer protection and reduce the likelihood of mould.
With any of these products, you'll want to give the bread box a sand with some 120 Grit Sandpaper, then brush it down to remove any sawdust before applying your wax or oil.
I'd suggest using a clean microfibre cloth to apply whatever sealer you choose.
Let me know what you think and if you have further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
