Hi experts
I want to build a coffered ceiling.
Not traditional 40cm drop.
But maybe 150mm drop
And then add moulding inside the squares.
Then paint same color as walls.
I have been seeing videos of people in USA making this DIY.
I was wondering if someone can help me.
How to do
Where to start
And what kind of slats batten I will require please.
I have some screenshots I took of a video.
Please help
Hello @Ammy007
There was a similar question asked before, I suggest having a look at this discussion - How to build a coffered ceiling? by @sach78. There is a link to a video guide that shows you how to begin your coffered ceiling project. I believe that installing the 150mm drop would be the same as installing the 40mm drop. For the battens I suggest using standard pine, but for the sides and bottom panels, I recommend using MDF. Please note that your cuts must be precise in order to avoid irregularities in the layout.
Please note that the guide only shows panels being installed and not a boxed feature. But it does show you what you need to do and where to begin.
If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Hi thank you for this. Yeah I would love like this one. Maybe tiny but thicker than that.
Is there anyone who can do that if I want it done. How much it should normally cost something like in the video. So I know if I am DIYing how much I am saving.
Hello @Ammy007
Doing it yourself will of course save you having to pay someone else to do it. However, the advantages of having it done professionally is that it will get done faster and will have a professional finish to it. If you are after a quote, I suggest posting the job on Airtasker or Hipages. My best advice is to include as much detail as possible so that you will get a response quickly. Remember to look at their social media posts and always ask for a reference.
