How to extend living space?

Hey everyone!!

Looking into renovation options for a property. The property currently has a relatively small living area but a generously sized alfresco. We’re exploring ideas to extend the living space—possibly by reconfiguring the layout or integrating part of the alfresco.

Sharing the floor plan below—keen to hear any suggestions or ideas from those who’ve done similar updates. Wondering how much would it cost approximately?

Could you be more specific in where you want to extend the living space. For example out into the Alfresco area?

Would you have a plan of the home you could share? You can often get one from the realestate listing from when you bought the home, just type your address into Google.

These will help us provide some insights.

There is definitely a lot of potential in regards to extending your living space. As @Nailbag has mentioned do you have a preference where the extension will be. Can you also please provide us with measurements of the area. This will help us determine how big the room should be and will also enable us to make sure that bedroom appliances fit properly. Any extra information you can provide us on what you will use the room for will help us give you better advice.

I think you might have missed the first post in this discussion where @Sharath2507 shared the house plan and that they were thinking about using some of the space from the alfresco area.

Hi @Sharath2507 

The alfresco roof structure is solid and I would think that any extension into it wouldnt affect it, rather than build out under it. The roof area directly above would become in the internal ceiling space for the extended living space. with insulation roof heating etc.
