Hi I hope anyone could provide some advices for this. I tried to apply primer on the wall panel but it has turned to brownish color. The right hand side of the wall panel was applied with Cabot’s CFP Floor before. It’s not much change in this part but it’s not white still. What I can do to fix this? Thanks.
Hello @Chloe88
When you paint a wall and stains push through the primer this phenomenon is referred to as bleed through. You'll need to use a special primer such as the Zinsser 946ml White B-I-N Primer Sealer Stain Blocker which is shellac based and covers all stains. This will prevent the old colour from bleeding through to the surface. Please note that it might be necessary to do two coats to fully seal the wall. My best advice is to give the primer to cure properly before applying the second coat.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Hi Eric,
So this can be applied on to the first layer primer or I better sand it first? Thanks!
Hi @Chloe88
The ideal scenario would be to sand the surface first and remove as much of the old paint as possible including the brown paint underneath before you paint it with a primer.
