Hi Bunnings Community, I wanted to get some advice trying to reconnect these two desk pieces together. Seems they were initially connected by screws but I am unsure which to use as the side desk is rather heavy. It seems the table is fully made of wood / timber. I have some timber screws leftover and I wanted to know if they would be enough. There is about 50mm width between the top and bottom desks.
Alternatively, I also had some leftover treated pine sleepers that I wanted to use to just prop this up as its own table. Would I be able to use these screws for that project too?
Hello @rben
My best advice in regards to the screws is to make sure that the length of the screw is correct. If it is too long it will push through the surface of the desk, too short and it will not anchor properly. In order to give us a better idea of how the desk is joined together can you please share a photo where the desk meet up? Are there any timber inserts or biscuits that indicate that they are suppose to be glued together? Is it an "L" shaped desk? Do they meet up at the ends or is one cabinet above the other? Any extra information or description you can add would be most appreciated.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.
