Ideas to build floor bed for toddler

IMG_2213.jpeg

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some advice on building a floor bed for my toddler.

We’re planning to place the bed in a corner and use two walls as two sides/edges of the bed.

Has anyone done this before?

  • What kind of frame or support works best?
  • Any safety considerations I should keep in mind (ventilation, gaps, wall protection, etc.)?
  • Would you recommend a DIY build or a specific product/design?

Photos or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Re: Ideas to build floor bed for toddler

Hello @sai2403

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about building a bed for a toddler.

It sounds like a very interesting project to be undertaking. I suggest having a quick look at this discussion - Solved: How to build a slat bed? by @BilliesBobs

In regards to the pre-built bed, I propose looking at the  Artiss Wooden Bed Frame Kids House Beds Single

However, if you are keen to build it from scratch, can you please tell us how big the bed will be? Can you please tell us more about the two sides you were referring to? Will the bed be integrated into the wall and non-movable?

If you have a picture of the bed you would like to emulate or a bed that inspired you, please make sure to share it with community.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Eric
