What to use to fill holes in Masonite walls to repaint?

Hello,

I am hoping to repaint my bedroom and there's a number of holes to fill from wall anchors that I need to fill first but I am unsure what filler to use because they are Masonite walls.

Is there a specific filler that is best for Masonite walls?

Thank you

Hi @Rose_,

A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.

Masonite is HDF (high-density fibreboard), which is an engineered timber product that is very similar to MDF (medium-density fibreboard). This means you can use any basic filler that is appropriate on timber.

This Selleys Spakfilla Rapid Gap Filler is my go-to for small patches and repairs to timber. It comes with a plastic spatula that can be used to apply the filler.

Once applied and dry, give the patch a sand with a sanding sponge before priming and painting.

Check out How to Fix a Hole in the Wall for some guidance.

Jacob
