How to anchor a wooden playground?

Hi! We've just purchased a second hand wooden playground and am wondering how to anchor it into med-hard soil without concreting? Any help is appreciated, thank you!

Re: How to anchor a wooden playground?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @rmala7. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about fixing a swing set.

It's really important to follow the manufacturer's instructions on securing playground equipment, but I understand that may be difficult with a second-hand unit. In general, playgrounds designed for use by smaller children often don't require ground fixings, as the weight and design can sometimes make them stable enough on their own.

If there are no specific instructions or requirements for anchoring, you could consider using products like the 50mm Sleeper Peg Galvanised Steel or the Jack 450mm Heavy Duty Steel Sleeper Peg Flat Stake to help secure the playground in place. These types of anchors are good for medium to hard soils and can provide the stability needed without having to resort to concreting.

Ensure that the solution you choose is safe and secure, and don’t hesitate to consult a professional if you’re unsure.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
