How to fill gap between gutter and pergola?

I have set up a DIY pergola near the house, but I did not attach it to the house, so a gap was left between the pergola and the gutter line. I underestimated how much rain can come through this gap. It is now letting in a lot of water and defeating the purpose of the pergola.
Any suggestions on how I can cover or seal this gap so that rain doesn’t come through? The house has gutters running along the same height as the pergola.

The distance between the gutter and the pergola is around 25 cm
The distance between the the Fascia Board and the pergola is around 40 cm
The distance from the brick wall to the pergola is around 80 cm

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.

The best solution I can think of is to hang bistro blinds from the pergola beam. As the issue is only really present when it is raining, you can lower the blinds when it's raining and then lift them when it isn't.

The only other solution I can think of is to have a roofing plumber install some kind of custom flashing to bridge the gap. If this were possible, it would likely involve the installation of additional framing to support that flashing.

How about a couple of large right angled brackets with a piece of timber fastend to the top horizontal sectiona nd another piece of alsonite overlaping the existing sheets screwed through to the timber and right angle? It will stop the splashing for sure. I am not sure where the existing alsonite drains to but I would make the additional sheet do the same.

Fascia side sits on timber strip.

Use the same roofing screws to secure on the pergola side.

I would get 4-4 lengths (overlapping) to make it easier to manage of colourbond flashing made up with the matching Woodland Grey colour side down.  Run this the full length of the opening to rest of the gutter lip and a slight angle to rest on the laser light. 

Run roof and gutter silicone along the top of the gutter lip and fasten down with either pop rivets or short self-drilling gal screws. Fix the laser light side down in the same holes as current.

For the 4 × 4 lengths suggested by @Nailbag, would the gutter be able to hold the weight?

Also, I’m not able to find any Colorbond flashing that is 25 cm wide.
If you have any links or product names, could you please share them?

I acknowledge @Nailbag's suggestion and proposing to use roofing sheets (no weight issues) tucked in under the gutter hard up against the fascia and secure the other side with the same pergola roofing screws.

The flashing needs to be made up custom @charlie007 If not Bunnings through special orders then your local plumbing supplies. Plus companies that specialise in metal fabrications. The weight is shared across the length of the guttering and the alfresco roof.

However to increase the support, you could also install brackets on the underside from the alfresco facia up under the flashing. Rivets to the flashing, screws to the facia. probably a good idea.

Another approach that would be much simpler plus would allow light in and not require any bracing would be to use lengths of Sunlight poly sheeting trimmed to size. It's very strong and designed to be used in roofing applications. And probably a cheaper option too. On the gutter side you would use self-drilling flat heads screws inline of rivets to fix the sheets I'm liking this idea better as I type. 🤔

Thanks @AlanM52 and  @Nailbag , i am also liking the idea of the poly sheeting , what would you suggest for fixing to the gutter, can I use some sort of a bracket?

If you are after brackets that you can bend and customize, I suggest looking at the Carinya Make A Bracket set. These brackets can be made into custom shapes with pliers and are strong enough to carry light weight items. Please visit the store and have a look to see if it will suite your needs.
