Hello all, we have had our fence and side gate installed, but the side gate post (the one that holds the lock) has come off the wall. The person who installed didn't use the correct materials to fixate the post to the Hebel wall.
What would be the best way or the best materials to do so? I'd like to try to fix this myself.
thank you for your help.
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @AdrianaLopez. It's sensational to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about fixing to Hebel.
Fixing to Hebel walls does require the right materials and method. A really useful guide is available here: Fixing to Hebel – I’d recommend giving it a read.
For your side gate post, fixing it typically involves using a Ramset ram plug and a suitably sized Type 17 screw. For this kind of post, I’d suggest using a 14/10 Type 17 screw with an 8 × 100 mm Ramset ram plug kit. However, if this is a thin Hebel panel, you can use shorter screws and Ramplugs.
You’ll want to use at least five fixings spaced evenly over the height of the post to make sure it’s held securely in place. Following this method should give your gate post a solid, long-lasting fix.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Mitchell
