I am renovating a little patio area the back of my terrace. I would like to install a 4.7 meters awning. I am not sure I can install this model to the rafter/fascia. Would it be possible? I am attaching pictures.
Thank you
Hi @Daniel79,
Question has been asked before and for that size you will likely have to do some prep work.

Hi @Daniel79,
It's great to see that @AlanM52 has pointed you in the right direction. To summarise, the awning needs to be attached to the structural members in your roof and not just to the fascia. To achieve this, you'd first mount a solid strip of timber, such as 190 x 45mm, to the ends of the rafters. This then gives you an externally mounted timber to attach your awning to. Locating the rafters can be a bit tricky behind a steel fascia, so if this sounds a bit daunting, I'd recommend you reach out to a carpenter or handyperson to assist.
The reason for attaching the timber first is that it's unikely that the mounting points for the awning would fall directly on the ends of your rafters.
