Hi. I am in the finishing stages of replacing my outdoor deck. I have used 140 x 19mm merbau decking boards. I have dry laid the last 15 boards whilst I fix the spacing and the positioning. I have not yet fastened them to the joists. I have been interrupted by continual rain. It does not look like stopping for the next four or five days. Should I leave the decking boards lying on the joists where they will be rained on over the next week, or should I move them all into the garage. I am concerned that they may warp as they are not yet fastened in any way. (I do realise that I could work in the rain, however there is a 2.5 metre drop under the boards and it's quite slippery.).
Cheers
Hello @Daz591
Thank you for sharing your question about your decking boards. It would be for the best if your decking boards are placed in a dry place, especially if they are not yet anchored in place. Your concern in regards to the panels warping is correct, but once the panels are screwed into the decking frame, it will be ok to leave it out in the weather.
