Designed and built a screen for the hot water unit using left over fibre cement Weatherboard panels.
Measure the location and transfer dimensions to timber.
Cut timber lengths
2 X long
4 - 6 short
Connect frame pieces using at least 2 timber screws at each connection point and distributing the short lengths evenly.
Test the frame to see if it fits correctly
Mark out locations for the steel angles on the timber and on the wall.
Using a stanley knife, score and snap pieces of the FC panels to cover the frame allowing for a 30mm overlap.
Nail the panels from the bottom up ensuring the nail are about 15mm from the top. The 30mm overlap will cover the nails.
Connect the brackets to the wall and timber frame. I also connected mine to the fascia board for more stability.
Install a side angle strip to cover the FC sheet edges and paint away!
Thanks again for sharing this terrific project Rufaro (@diy_hausdesigns). I'm sure it will inspire others as screening projects are always hugely popular on the Bunnings Workshop community.
