What wire panels should i use for a rabbit hutch?

image.jpg

i want to make a rabbit hitch from scratch so both of them have enough room, i’ve planned out how i want it to look but i’m stuck on what type of wire i should use? i need something sort of sturdy (can withstand 3 kilos of pressure) with gaps (idk what to call it) maybe 15X15mm or close enough otherwise bars like the image would work, thank you !!

Hello @dakota56

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your rabbit hutch.

I propose looking at using the Jack 120cm x 10m Pro Series Heavy Duty Dog Wire Mesh. This is rated for use on medium sized dogs so should be able to put up with a rabbit's fiercest attack. But if you are after something flat there is also the RapidMesh 600 x 1200mm 25 x 25mm Silver Wire Mesh Panel which has small gaps in between and should be able to stop young juveniles from pouncing through. However, I suggest visiting your local store and having a look at the wire mesh isle and see which one will suite your needs, there are a variety of choices, and they come in different thicknesses and strengths.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.
