Are these windows gaps and uneven brick finishing acceptable?

Currently building first time in Sydney,

Are these windows gaps and uneven brick finishing acceptable ๐Ÿ™ 

What do i need to ask my builder to fix this issue. kindly advise. thanks

Hi @Samara1,

 

The brickwork looks rather intentional, so I'd imagine the gap has been created for a reason. It's best to speak with your builder about why the gaps are there and how they will be covered before you take possession of the property.

 

For questions about things that look slightly unusual, it's very hard for our members to determine whether it's an issue or something that the builder will address later in the build. Chatting with the builder and asking them your questions would be the most direct way to find out whether these are issues or just normal building techniques.

My windows gaps are fixed but Two separate layer of angles used next to next on top of my windows to fill the gaps.

will there be any issue on fixing like this. any windows export please advise.

Hi @Samara1,

 

I don't see any issue with this method of closing the gap above your window.

 

If you have concerns, I suggest communicating this with your builder. As they are a licenced builder, they are the expert in this situation.

 

If you are concerned that your builder is not following the relevant standards, I would suggest getting an independent building inspector to assess the build.
