Can the Energizer Recharge Maxi Battery Charger charge odd numbered batteries?

Hello everyone,

I am interested in purchasing the following Energizer Recharge Maxi Battery Charger .

I have discovered that this charger can only charge 2 or 4 batteries at once.

Please let me know how to charge 1 or 3 batteries. Is it even possible with this charger? Very often children's toys require 3 batteries.

Would it be safe to insert 1 fully charged battery + 3 batteries that need to be charged into this charger and charge?

If there are any other strategies to charge 1 or 3 batteries, please let me know.

Re: Can the Energizer Recharge Maxi Battery Charger charge odd numbered batteries?

Hi @alex27,

From Energizer: Some chargers will only charge pairs of batteries at a time (2 or 4). If one or three batteries are installed in these chargers, the single battery (not in a pair) will receive no charge. I've enquired with Energizer and Varta to see if any in their range will function with one or three batteries, and there isn't any with that option.

I would suggest trying to get into the habit of charging two or four at a time and having them fully charged in the cupboard. With additional charged batteries waiting to go into a toy, you can simply swap them out. Say you have four fully charged batteries in the cupboard. A toy uses three batteries, so you swap them out with those in the cupboard, leaving you with three empty and one full battery. Pop two of them on charge. You now have three fully charged batteries in your cupboard for the next toy. Not as easy as just charging one of three at a time, but with a back-up set it can be done.

It is safe to install one fully charged battery. However, it's not advisable to keep trying to charge when the battery is already full.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Mitchell
