Can you recommend a tradesperson?

The Bunnings Workshop community is full of helpful people sharing their experiences and knowledge about home improvement. We are always happy to provide D.I.Y. advice. The Bunnings team also offers a range of in-home services for specific installation jobs

However, if you are looking for recommendations on a builder, plumber or other tradesperson, we are unlikely to be able to assist. We would recommend you try a site like Airtasker or hipages. As Workshop is a community for people right across Australia and New Zealand, it is unlikely that there will be a member near you who can recommend someone suitable. It's best to go direct to a site that is designed for that purpose.

The NSW Department of Fair Trading has a website offering advice on selecting a tradesperson or builder. Our Workshop Best Advice How do you choose a builder might also be helpful.

Re: Builder help

Hello @Maureen2

I suggest posting a picture of the kitchen you want to have removed along with measurements of the kitchen itself. I'll be more than happy to draw you up a kitchen layout that you can then take to the store and have quoted. In regards to the plumbing and hand basin job, you can ask the kitchen installer if they are willing to add these small jobs to the kitchen installation.

When you go to the store to have your kitchen quoted, make sure to ask for a demolition and installation quote as well. This will often include the electrician and plumber as well.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let me know.

Re: Outdoor Tiles pressure cleaning.

Hi @Kaz22,

Thank you for your question and welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is great to have you with us.

Companies like this are generally very area specific, so it would be difficult to offer a recommendation for you.

I'd suggest having a look at a service such as Hipages or True Local for a pressure washing company in your area.

If you'd like to try and carry out the job yourself, have a look at our range of Pressure Washers.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Re: Roofing

Hi @Sheza81,

I'd like to start by welcoming you to the Bunnings Workshop community. It is fantastic to have you with us.

I'm so sorry to hear about your roof collapsing and can only imagine the anguish it has caused.

Can I ask whether it was the roof that collapsed? Or the ceiling? This will narrow down what sort of tradesman you will need to contact.

If it is a ceiling, you will need to contact a plasterer, if it is a roof, you will need to contact a licenced builder or roofing contractor.

You might like to use a service such as Hipages or True Local to find someone in your area who does this kind of work.

It may also be helpful to head to the Trade Desk at your local Bunnings. While we don't have preferred contractors, the staff on the Trade Desk will interact with several people who are in the industry during an average week. They may be able to put you in touch with some local tradies who can quote on the job.

Let me know if there's anything else I can assist with.

Jacob
