Hi all,
I thought it may he good to have a feed where we could share any tips and tricks to do with any of the Grid Connect Range being Arlec, Deta, Verve, Orion.
I am learning from trial and error and really just accident so sharing with others and sharing back we may be able to create some good learning information for us all.
Please post below starting with what the trick is as the title then how to do so as the body of information.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Marie02. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about the Grid-connect app.
Changing the password on the Grid Connect app will usually sign you out and can cause your rooms and devices to disappear from the home screen. Unfortunately, if the rooms have dissapeared I don't believe there is a way to simply “find” the old rooms and add them back.
The good news is that you generally won’t need to re-pair each light globe to Wi-Fi. In most cases, once you’re logged back into the app, the devices will still be there, but you’ll need to recreate your rooms and then assign each light back to the correct room. If the lights aren’t showing up at all, then a reset and re-pair of the globes may be required, but that’s usually a last resort.
I’d suggest first checking the device list in the app, then creating your rooms again and moving the lights into them. If you run into issues, Grid Connect support can also help confirm whether a full reset is needed for your specific setup.
Let me mention @CSParnell and @GreenHouse to see if they have any thoughts.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

So I’m in the market for some security cameras, the whole shebang in one go would be ideal; door cam + chime, outdoor cam (atleast one with pan/tilt, preferably 2) and a single indoor that I can still utilise in the outdoor patio where there’s zero chance of getting wet.
Anyway I’m interested in the new range of cams as they look much more refined than the previous range, as they do with their whole catalog of products to be fair, but I’ve come across this solar powered / rechargeable lithium 9200mAh battery and have some queries/concerns…
Firstly, why does this appear to be presented as an outdoor security cam, IP65 rating, outdoor mounting in images ect. And yet the bunnings specs list it as Outdoor: No, Indoor: Yes,
Furthermore, (and this is purely my opinion)the 4G LTE being the standalone connectivity option isn’t abundantly obvious and should be given each and every prior grid connect product requires wifi and bluetooth for bluetooth hub devices. Just an observation as someone previously reviewed and mentioned this fact as he bought it unaware of the lack of wifi connectivity option. Personally it’s a long overdue upgrade but I would expect wifi to still at least be an option, pretty good way to pigeon hole your product using a stand alone connection option external to wifi, especially after grilling into us all the necessity for 2.4ghz 5000 square m coverage. This is particularly disappointing for me personally as I’m not going to buy and keep on top of another sim card, and on top of that I’ve just upgraded to a higher end mesh setup for whole house coverage literally just for the grid connect devices I have around the house, to which there are not that many compared to heavier users, so a fairly large outlay of cash and then to lose out on the only solar “outdoor” option is pretty lack. As I said mostly opinion and perhaps suggestion {for real when oh when do we finaly get ethernet capability so we can get some actual good quality no laggy nonsense connection 🤔}.
I digress, my question would be what does the warranty cover if the camera is installed outdoors, where it will be exposed to the elements? I understand the likelihood of an iP65 device is pretty well sorted in a storm ect. Just covering bases that Bunnings seem to suggest otherwise in their specifications.
And if anyone can shed some light on the 9200mAh battery life over the course of a day with non frequent traffic and of course the bump in with solar. This being a broad question/discussion point more than anything.
From someone who has installed several DIY security systems both at home and abroad few friends etc, I would research the FB user groups on any of the brands and models you're considering. End-users are the best in my opinion to get real information across all the areas you're asking about. Obviously these groups do have their dills providing useless comments, but generally it's a pretty good start.

Hi @GarageDIYGuy,
I have put together a shopping list for you.
1 x door cam + chime
Orion Grid Connect Smart Rechargeable Video Doorbell Camera
1 x indoor cam
Orion Grid Connect Smart 1080p HD White Pan and Tilt Security Camera
OR
Orion Grid Connect Smart Wi-Fi Indoor Pan And Tilt 2K-Pro Security Camera
2 x outdoor cams
Orion Smart Dual Lens PTZ Outdoor 2K Security Camera
OR
Orion Grid Connect Smart 3MP Outdoor Pan and Tilt Security Camera
2 x solar panels
Orion 5W IP65 Outdoor Solar Panel For Security Cameras
The concept of outdoor solar powered cameras with LTE connectivity can be confusing.
Generally they would not be considered for domestic security systems.
Typical scenarios:
Remote-
You have another property that needs to be monitored like a hobby farm, bush shack or even where your boat is moored.
Local-
You live on a big chunk of land or small acreage with a long driveway and need to monitor the automated front gate with keypad entry.
Cheers
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @GarageDIYGuy. It's fantastic to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about Orion cameras.
Just to clarify a few points about this camera. The IP65 weather-resistant rating and that it mention that it can be exposed to rain clearly shows that it is suitable for exterior use. The note in the product description saying “Outdoor: No” is simply an error in that section, so you can safely use it outdoors. I’ll have our team look into getting that corrected. I've also double-checked this with Orion and it is suitable for exterior use.
Regarding the 4G LTE connectivity, as Alan mentioned, this camera is likely designed for larger properties or remote locations where Wi-Fi isn’t available. That does make it a bit more complicated if you’re trying to integrate it into a standard home Wi-Fi setup. I've passed on your feedback to the Grid Connect team, as having Wi-Fi as an option would certainly make it more versatile for home use. For similar features and wifi connectivity, I'd recommend looking at the Orion Smart Dual Lens PTZ Outdoor 2K Security Camera and the Orion 5W IP65 Outdoor Solar Panel For Security Cameras.
As for battery life, with the 9200mAh capacity, it would be perfectly sufficient for a day of typical use, even with frequent traffic. The solar panel will help keep it topped up during the day, so for normal monitoring, the battery should comfortably maintain charge without issues. If it were subject to frequent motion events, it would still cope, but occasional activity is unlikely to drain it significantly.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
