How to hang a heavy mirror?

IMG_7582.jpeg

i have purchased a very heavy round mirror which I want to hang. The mirror weighs 23kg and the instructions say to hang straight on the D-rings and not to add a string.

if I used 2 wallmates (15kg load each) into the plaster would this be sufficient?

Re: Hanging Heavy Mirror

Hi @mmryan

I propose using Ramset Super Wallmate Toggle Anchor in combination with the Everhang 20kg Heavy Duty Solid Wall Picture Hanging Hooks. The toggle will provide a more robust anchor, and the hooks are rated for 20KG each.

I also suggest having a look at this guide: How to hang just about anything by @Adam_W

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Re: Hanging Heavy Mirror

Hi @mmryan

My first question has to be, when you say " into the plaster" do you mean a plaster board hollow wall or do you mean plaster on brick solid wall?

Re: Hanging Heavy Mirror

Just a plaster wall

Re: Hanging Heavy Mirror

Sorry @mmryan

That leaves me as in the dark as before, if you tap on the wall, does it sound hollow or solid? Just trying to ascertain which as the two different types of wall require different anchors.
