Hi Bunnings,
I purchased some of the above titled timber flooring and looking at installation and have a few queries.
1. What PVA glue would you recommend.
2. What underlay would you recommend.
3. What underlay joining tape would you recommend.
4. What expansion trim would you recommend, for large rooms.
Thanks,
Lee
Hi @Lee777,
If you purchased the timber flooring from a manufacturer or supplier, I’d highly recommend contacting them directly for installation advice. Most engineered timber products come with specific guidelines, especially when it comes to adhesives, underlays, and maintaining the warranty. Following their instructions will help ensure the floor performs well over time.
Our engineered flooring supplier stipulates that it needs to be installed over a vapour-proof membrane, which can be 200 μm Builders Plastic sealed at the joints with vapour-proof tape.
A high-quality PVA adhesive that’s suitable for tongue and groove flooring, such as SikaBond PVA Wood Adhesive would be suitable.
For our product, typically for small to medium-sized rooms expansion gaps are left at the edges. For large room that expansion gap is increased around the perimeter. Some multi-room or very large installations will need expansion joints installed throughout the floor.
For a standard large room, it should be enough to have the expansion gap at the edges covered by the skirting board.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Hi mitchellmc
I'm looking for a box of this particular flooring for a small rectification job. Do you know where I can find it?
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @dencahir. It's fabulous to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about flooring.
I'm not familiar with Harris Victorian Oak Engineered Timber Tongue & Groove flooring. We do sell engineered flooring, but not of that specific type. We can order products from Pentarch timber, so it might be worth speaking with our special orders team in store. They can advise if there’s a similar flooring type available or possibly a close match to what you’re after. If you’re looking for that exact Harris Victorian Oak product, you’d likely need to contact the manufacturer directly to obtain the same timber.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
