How to seal a hole in weatherboard?

1000027979.jpg

Hi there, we have a hole in the weatherboard on the exterior of our house. It's behind a downpipe and is where piping for an aircon unit enters the wall. We need to seal the gap as it is getting rain in it when it is really heavy/windy.

The hole is about 5x5cm - just looking for best method to seal it without removing the downpipe.

Thanks

Re: How to seal a hole in weatherboard?

Hello @Jaydotkay

Thanks for sharing your question about sealing a hole in your weatherboard. I suggest using Parfix 340g Expanding Foam Filler to fill the hole the weatherboard. Carefully insert the straw in between the gap and fill the hole carefully. Please keep in mind that the foam will expand to at least three times its size so overfilling is not a good idea. My best advice is to allow the foam to fully cure before you start to trim it. I suggest using a Craftright 18mm Snap Off Knife to cut off the excess foam that will flow out the gap.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.
