How to treat Colorbond roof rust on new roof?

Was cleaning my gutters where I have been using rollout plastic gutter guard and found paint bubbles on my relatively new colourbond roof. These are along the edge of the roof sheets. Not sure why this has happened and what I can do about it.

Re: Colorbond roof rust on new roof

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Fetus. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about Colorbond sheeting.

Could you please upload some photos if possible? That would really help our members see exactly what’s happening and provide more targeted advice. Of course, your safety is the number one priority, so if getting those photos isn’t practical or safe, we can still work with the information you’ve shared. Let me know if you need a hand uploading images.

Any bubbling or rust on relatively new Colorbond sheets is definitely something to raise with the company that supplied and/or installed the roof. They may put you in direct contact with the manufacturer so the sheets can be assessed properly, and it can be determined whether it’s a product or installation issue. It’s best to get that process started as soon as you can. If the sheets were purchased through us, I’d be more than happy to liaise with the manufacturer on your behalf. For now, I’d recommend not attempting any repairs until the sheets have been inspected, as it could be a wider issue rather than just some isolated spot rust that can be treated.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
