Why don't the router table inserts of the Ozito RTB-003 table work with the Ozito PXC 18V / PXBLTS-018 router? Has anyone else figured out how to make the two products fit together?
We can clamp the router in place, but no matter which angle/rotation/direction we try of either the router or insert, when we tighten the clamps to lock the router in place, the insert pops out of the table. Every single time.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Screenshot below is from Bunnings website, showing the insert.
I must admit - I'm cooking tea and drinking wine, but I'm looking at my ROU-5000 router and I cannot fathom what would be striking the insert plate?
The minimum distance is 78 mm at the 'outlet' and even that is recessed, so the tabs should be safe?
Can you photograph the router in position - on the underside of the table - so maybe we can understand what's happening better?

Hello @DC201
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about the Ozito worktable.
It's great that you've received excellent advice from @Noyade. I'm in the same mindset as Noyade the baseplate is so big there should be no reason for it to be hitting the insert. As an added request can you please post a photo of the router's baseplate and a photo of the table with the router installed but the router insert uninstalled.
Eric
You haven't by any chance installed the template guide - then tried to install the router onto the table?
To my eyes - that would 'pop' the insert - me thinks.
Just a 2-coffee thought @DC201
Thanks so very much for replying. It really helped. Turns out we didn't buy the router we thought we'd bought! Instead we have the Ozito PXC 18V / PXBLTS-018 (https://www.bunnings.co.nz/ozito-pxc-18v-brushless-trim-router-pxblts-018-skin-only_p0412270)
I'm guessing the PXC really doesn't fit with the table inserts. We'll have to save up for the model you have!
Thanks so much for replying. We've realised we didn't buy the router we thought we were buying! Our bad. We have the Ozito PXC 18V / PXBLTS-018 (https://www.bunnings.co.nz/ozito-pxc-18v-brushless-trim-router-pxblts-018-skin-only_p0412270)

Really appreciate your reply. Many thanks
Turns out we bought a different router to the one we thought we'd bought and have the Ozito PXC 18V / PXBLTS-018 (https://www.bunnings.co.nz/ozito-pxc-18v-brushless-trim-router-pxblts-018-skin-only_p0412270)

Hi @DC201,
If you can clamp the router to the table, then the issue isn't with the router, and you should be able to use it.
The instruction manual mentions there are 5 different sized inserts which are relative to the size of the router bit that is being used.
Were multiple inserts supplied with your router table?
Have you tried using a different, larger insert?
Let me know what you think.
Jacob
Morning @JacobZ
I get the impression @DC201 can fit the router - but...
"when we tighten the clamps"
...it's the tightening that causes the insert to 'pop' out. To me the shoe surface eventually strikes the tabs of the insert and pushes it out.
Is the opened shoe diameter of this Ozito battery powered machine smaller than the table insert?
Cheers.
