Hello to everyone.
This is my attempt to renovate my Study area.
First step was to make the desk.
I have made the Desk with Laminated Panels and Deco Plywood.
I used pocket holes to make the cabinets and kept a shadow line on the top to keep the design novel.
Top is a Merbau laminated board.
Drawer covers are Beech panels.
Finish - linseed oil
step 2 is to make the cabinets and book shelf.
Welcome to the Workshop community @nisitha.
Many thanks for jumping straight in and sharing a fantastic project! I'm sure our community members would really like to hear more about how you built such a great desk as it has a unique contemporary design.
We look forward to seeing more of your projects and if you ever have something to share with the community or need advice please let us know.
Thanks for the encouraging words.
I will keep you posted with my progress of the renovation of our study.
This is my second DIY project for in-house renovations. I have completed renovation of my study by making custom furniture using my own design and with Bunnings project panel timber.
Project panels - Beech and Merbau
Cabinet drawer slides and handles. Concealed hinges
Finished with linseed oil ( use caution in handling linseed oil )
I have used pocket holes to make the boxes and countersunk holes in drawers.
Many thanks for sharing the updated photos of your project. It looks fantastic and is a great example of using our project panels. I trust many of our members and visitors to the community will take great inspiration for their own desk projects.
We look forward to seeing more project around your house and garden.
