curtain advice

hi, I want to do a 3metre long curtain that pulls to one side only. Is there such a thing as a three metre curtain rod or rail that only pulls to one side? I.e. no centre support.

thanks, Sue

Re: curtain advice

Hi @SuzieQ2,

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is wonderful to have you with us.

Unfortunately, I am not aware of a conventional curtain rod that could span 3 metres unsupported in the middle. The general rule is that a curtain rod should be supported with a centre bracket if the window is more than about 1.2m wide.

I have seen solid timber dowels such as this Porta 35x35mm 3.0m Dowel Tasmanian Oak used as curtain rods for wide windows; however, they usually have that additional central bracket.

Your best option is likely to contact a drapery installer, as they may have a solution that could work for you.

Apologies, I could not be more helpful.

Jacob

Re: curtain advice

Hi @SuzieQ2

A centre support does not preclude a pull to one side curtain. You can even get motorised curtains up to 3m , example here...

The supports do not necessarily get in the way of the movement of the curtain. I suspect you have worded your question based on an assumption that isn't really true and you should reword your search to get a better answer.
