How to change bathroom vanity valves?

I want to change the hot and cold water valves for my vanity.

Are there any recommended products?  I have visited the Bunnings web site, and seems most of the valve are either for cistern and  washing machine, or 2 way valve.

Are there any right angled valves (ceramic disc)?

Thanks.

Hello @siusiu12

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your bathroom vanity valves.

Despite being called cistern and washing machine valves they pretty much serve the same purpose. The two taps though have different sizes so be careful which one you purchase. For the bottom of your vanity, I suggest having a look at these cistern taps that have ceramic-based sealers - Brasshards Easy 1/4 Turn Mini Cistern Tap 15mm Lead Free and the Syneco 1/2" Chrome Mini Cistern Cock. You may also go for the standard ones that use rubber jumper valves, but the ceramic sets often last much longer.

Just a friendly reminder that any plumbing work must be carried out by a registered plumber for safety and compliance.

Thanks Eric.

Are they suitable for both hot and cold water?

Are they BSPP or BSPT?

Hello @siusiu12

Yes, they are suitable for both hot and cold. The majority are standard BSPT, but some might be BSPP so please observe carefully. But the threads are all metric and should be compatible.

Re: How to change bathroom vanity valves?

Thanks again.

How about this item https://www.bunnings.com.au/brasshards-1-4-turn-mini-cistern-tap-15mm-chrome-lead-free_p0571974

Is it also suitable for hot and cold water for vanity?

How is it different from the two you recommended?

Hello @siusiu12

Yes, it is suitable for both hot and cold water. The only difference is the handle as far as I can see, but both are 1/4 turn and lead free.
