How to connect Bosch washing machine autostop valve?

How to fix this outlet from my Bosch machine to the blue water outlet. There seems to be a gap and the aqua stop pipe wouldn't budge. It's not a flexible pipe.

Re: bosch washing machine autostop valve

Hi @mosesdan2001,

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.

Is the issue that the angle of the thread on the tap makes it impossible to bend the hose to fit?

If so, then you have two main options: rotate the tap or cut a new hole for the hose to go through.

It looks like you'd only need to rotate the tap anticlockwise by about 45 degrees. There are a few risks involved with this, so you should consider having a plumber do it for you. If you are in a rental property, it would also be worth speaking to your leasing agent before doing anything.

A plumber would likely turn off the water at the meter, then use an adjustable wrench or pipe wrench to grasp the hexagonal section at the base of the tap and rotate it that little bit, ensuring they don't force it. As long as this small rotation doesn't loosen the connection too much, then it should be ok.

The other option is to cut a new hole for the hose to run through. For this, you would use a hole saw.

Let me know what you think and if you have further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Hi jacobz thanks for your response. Yes the angle on the thread is making it difficult to bend the pipe. Might land on the hole saw which looks straight forward

Will a connector between the pipes work?

Re: bosch washing machine autostop valve

Hello @mosesdan2001

For a quick link, I propose using BOSTON 1.2m Washing Machine And Dishwasher Inlet Hose along with a Brasshards 20mm Brass Threaded Hexagon Nipple LF. Please make sure to use FIX-A-TAP 12mm x 8m Blue PTFE Thread Seal Tape on all threaded sections.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Re: bosch washing machine autostop valve

Hi @mosesdan2001,

If you aren't able to replace the hose, which I suspect is the case with your Bosch washing machine, then you could connect either a Brasshards 15mm Brass Male / Female Threaded Elbow LF or Brasshards 20mm Brass Male / Female Threaded Elbow LF, depending on the size of the thread on the tap.

You'd use some FIX-A-TAP 12mm x 8m Blue PTFE Thread Seal Tape to make a tight connection.

With this elbow in place, you should be able to pull the hose through and connect up to the elbow.

Let me know if you have further questions.

Jacob
