I recently installed a couple of sets of the Mondella cadenza wall top assembly taps in the shower and a basin set (https://www.bunnings.com.au/mondella-chrome-cadenza-1-2-turn-basin-set_p0684081). Worked perfectly at first, however I’ve noticed over the past 2 weeks since install the cold water (most used) taps are getting stiffer and stiffer to the point where my kids can no longer turn them. Any ideas what’s causing this and how I can fix it?
Hello @mitch_bris
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your ceramic taps.
It's possible that debris could have lodge itself into the ceramic disk surface or the locking nut was not properly tightened causing the ceramic spindle to over tighten and lock the ceramic disc in place. I suggest removing the spindle and inspecting it for debris and damage. Observe carefully and see if it loosens itself and works properly. If it does, I suggest putting it back and screwing it firmly bit not overly tight. Upon re-installation of the locking nut at the top make sure it is secure and firm to prevent the spindle from moving. Give it another test to make sure it is no longer tight.
However, if the taps still malfunction, I suggest bringing the taps back along with your docket to exchange them for another set.
