How to install puddle flange for 50mm floor waste?

1000017593.jpg

I need to install a puddle flange prior to waterproofing with Gripset membrane.  As the pipe is 50mm is there a puddle flange that fits into this pipe or do I need an adapter? Does Bunnings sell butyl squares for waterproofing puddle flanges?

The previous owners had loose lay vinyl sheet that covered the bathroom floor including the waste pipe.

Re: How to install puddle flange for 50mm floor waste, do I need an adapter?

Hello @Ambrosia

Just a friendly reminder that any plumbing work needs to be carried out by a registered plumber for safety and compliance.

Thank you for sharing your question about installing a puddle flange. The installation of a puddle flange is not easy and involves adjusting the height of the wastepipe so that the flange sits properly and in level with flooring substrate it will be installed on. I recommend not taking any chances with the puddle flange installation and getting a professional to install it.

From memory the flange is installed first and is sealed along with the waterproofing above it. But it's best to confer with a waterproofing agent as they will be familiar with rules and regulations of the local council.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Re: How to install puddle flange for 50mm floor waste, do I need an adapter?

Hello @EricL

Sorry my title wasn't clear I meant what products do I need to buy. I ended up purchasing a 50mm puddle flange that fit the pipe, no adaptor required. And the 80mm Mondela square drain grate. And fibre cement flooring sheets.

Council advised Tasmania doesn't required a licensed waterproofing tradesperson, but installation must be in accordance with AS3740 & NCC. A certificate of compliance needs to be provided to council.

Thanks again.
