Re: How to remove overhead shower?

Hi @nuwanr,

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.

If you are just looking to remove the shower head, then it would be a simple case of turning the water off at the meter to ensure there are no leaks, then using something like an adjustable wrench to rotate the hexagonal connector at the top counterclockwise.

If you are looking to remove the water supply altogether, then you would need to contact a plumber for their assistance.

Let me know what you think and if you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Thank you Jacob. Yes I would like to remove that shower head and the arm so I can add a arm that in the picture attached here. Thank you

Re: How to remove overhead shower?

Hi @nuwanr,

As long as the new arm is the same thread size as the old one, then it should be pretty simple to replace.

Just remove the old one using the wrench and install the new one, adding a few layers of thread seal tape to ensure there is a solid, watertight connection.

If the threads don't match up, then there is a variety of brass connectors, like a hex reducing bush or hex reducing nipple that can be used to adapt up and down in thread size.

Check out How To Replace A Shower Head for some further guidance.

If you weren't confident doing it yourself, you could always use our Tapware & Shower Head Installation Service.

Let me know how you go and if you require further assistance, please let me know.

Re: How to remove overhead shower?

Hi Jacob,

Thank you for your help andI got it done. It was pretty straightforward job but it was more about getting myself to be comfortable to do it, as you correctly identified.

Thank you again
