I wanted to add some colour to an otherwise boring space, so I chose a blue colour from the picture hanging in the space.
• Monarch angle brush
• 10-11mm Nap roller
• painters tape
• Dulux Prep and Prime
• Dulux Natural White Low Sheen
• Dulux Denim Blue Low Sheen
First step was to prep: sand back, wipe down then apply Primer as a base coat.
I decided to work with the colour first, as it was the hardest area for me to reach. After taping up my work area, I started on the back wall (behind the toilet), and for added drama I continued up across the ceiling and back down behind the door.
I did 2 coats of Dulux Denim Blue.
I waited a week for the paint to fully cure as I had to tape up on the blue so I could apply the white (I didn't want the paint to peel from the tape).
I applied two coats of Dulux Natural White to the walls.
It adds a pop of colour and drama to an otherwise understated space.
In the future I hope to replace the toilet and tiles for a more cohesive look.
NB: the architraves and door were previously painted in Dulux Aquanamel Semi Gloss in Vivid White.
What a fantastic project @T-Gilbert! You’ve done such a great job bringing your idea to life. It looks amazing.
