Having an Impact

This charming, old-fashioned wishing well would be a striking addition to any garden.

The project

I have made three of these now. The first was for my partner, and when her friends saw it they wanted one too.

I don't have any carpentry skills whatsoever – in fact I was terrible at woodwork in school.

I used a compound mitre saw to cut the timber and a Join A Jig to pre-drill the screw holes for the right-angle joins.

The frame is made with 70mm x 35mm treated Pine outdoor framing; the walls and roof are made with treated Pine fence palings; and the winch is made with a broom handle and timber offcuts.

Kind of a Big Deal

Morning Demo.

Looks really good - excellent detail and he scaling looks perfect. Is that why you went with a smaller bucket in the last photo.

Mine looks wrong - I 'wish' I hadda tried harder.
