How to extend a garden shed?

I currently have a 3m x 3m garden shed. I would like to extend it by around 1200m.

What would be the best way to extend the shed?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.

Is it a metal shed? Is there a concrete slab already in place to extend the shed on? What kind of roof does the shed have?

Can I ask you to upload some photos of your shed? Seeing the shed in its current state will help our members offer their best advice on how you could extend your shed.

The basic process would be to build a frame to tie into the existing frame, then clad it with a similar material and seal up any gaps to make it relatively watertight.

Timber framing is a simple option that might work depending on what you already have. You could use 70 x 35mm H3 Treated Outdoor Framing Pine to create the frame, then clad it with corrugated steel cladding.

Once we can see what you are working with, I'm sure our experienced members such as @Nailbag, @DIY4Knuckleheds and @Dave-1 would be happy to offer their thoughts and guidance.

The first step is to extend the base. Assuming you're on a concrete slab, you will need to drill holes to install steel connecting rods into the side of the existing slab to tie in the extension. This would need to be 100mm thick, plus compacted sand or crushed rock base of at least another 50mm. This is essentially how I extend my mates slab last summer for his new larger shed.
