Most Bunnings stores will happily provide you with free pallets whenever they are available. Just speak to one of the helpful team members in the Timber Yard at your local store and they will be able to point you in the right direction.
To avoid disappointment, we always recommend to give the store a call before visiting to ensure they have supply.
Pallets come in a variety of shapes and sizes.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Newuser1234. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about finding pallets.
Many of our stores are now participating in a recycling program for our single-use pallets. These pallets are collected and sent off to be converted into garden mulch, which could be the reason you're having trouble finding free pallets at your local store. We do typically allow customers to take pallets until they are picked up for recycling.
I’m not aware of any pallets that we sell, but we do have multi-use hardwood pallets on site. These are not for sale or for free, as we use them for day-to-day operations. It may be worth visiting a few other stores in your area, but I’d recommend calling ahead to avoid any disappointment.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

I agree with @MitchellMc in phoning around @Newuser1234 as two of my local 4 stores have free pine pallets. When you see where they are positioned, both have areas far out of the way in the corner at the trade end outer carpark, where the other two have no space. You won't ever find hardwood ones as these will be branded and owned by a pallet company for ongoing use.

Hi,
Does anyone know where to get timber pallets? I tried my local Bunnings, but they stopped throwing them away a long time ago. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Andi009. It's sensational to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about collecting pallets.
If you haven’t already spoken to the team at your local store, it’s definitely worth doing so. While we don’t typically throw pallets away, we do still receive a lot of pallets, which are usually picked up by a recycling company. Some stores near your location might still be able to let you collect a few when they become available. Because pallets are collected each week, the team should be able to advise you on a good time to come by and pick some up.
If you can let us know your closest store, I'd be happy to ring around for you to see if there are any stores in your area that have some available.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

It would be great thank you. This is my postcode 3977
Hi @Andi009,
I've spoken with the team at Bunnings Narre Warren, and that sounds like your best bet. As mentioned, we do have regular collections in place, but if you reach out to the store before you head in, they'll be able to let you know if they have some on hand. If you speak with Terri in the Timber Yard/Goods Receiving, they'll be able to assist.

Hi,
Does anyone know if it's possible to get some free half-size wooden pallets from Bunnings?
Thanks!
Hi @SuzanneMartin,
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.
Our stores often have pallets that can be collected for free, but it can vary from store to store. We don't keep an inventory count for pallets, so the best thing you can do is give your local store a call and ask if they have any.
Let me know if you have any further questions.

I am looking to line the ceiling for my open truss garage (very high ceiling too approx 3.5m) above is a tile roof with no sarking so plenty of dusty coming in.
Im on a very tight budget and thinking of lining with reclaimed pallet timber. Found a couple videos on this. But im wondering if bunnings still offer free pallets to take and if so would it be wrong of me to take so many. My garage is approx 5.5 by 5.5. So big area and guessing would need over 30 pallets. So I am guessing it would take time to accumulate too.
Just trying to work out the logistical and practical side of doing this option?
Thanks.
Good Morning

Love reusing things but this is one that may not work so easily.
Pretty sure Bunnings do give away pallets, plus I know of plenty of places in the light industry areas around where I live give them away as well.
The reason why I dont think it will work so easily is two fold.
Weight, imagine 30 pallets minis their supports weight hanging off your garage that has been designed to carry xxxkg load.
Pallet timber generally is faily weak, the added rafters, supports that will be needed to attach the pallet timbers will strain the roofing structure.
Ive considered after fitting sarking for my house but due to the tight reaches its in the too hard for now basket. If you have access to the roof and it sounds like you do it may be a less weighty option of retro fitting some sarking, even if its just between the trusses.
