How to connect x2 Nylex soaker hoses around a corner?

IMG_1939.png

Hello, I was hoping somebody could tell me which product I need. I bought two Nylex 10m soaker sprinklers (image attached) and I want to connect them together to form one 20m soaker sprinkler. Only problem is, I need it to go around a corner. Any help is appreciated! Cheers.

Hello @matt22

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about the Nylex soakers.

For a trouble-free connection, I suggest using a Pope 12mm Swivel 2 Way Snap-On Coupler. In this manner you won't have to use multiple parts and connections just one complete set ready to go. The best part is that it can be bent around a corner.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Hi @matt22,

You can easily make your own soaker 'hose joiner'.

Using a short length of garden hose and two regular hose connectors.

In that photo the 'hose joiner' is used to connect tap timer to tap.

I have a longer version of that for two soaker hoses that water garden beds either side of the gazebo area.

Cheers

I’m just not sure what to do with both ends. Obviously the hose piece goes into the tap but the flat cap on the other end, once unscrewed, how does this connect to the coupler you mentioned. Do I need something else to screw into it first? Images attached.

Re: How to connect x2 Nylex soaker hoses around a corner?

Hello @matt22

The hose adapter end goes into the Pope 12mm Swivel 2 Way Snap-On Coupler I suggested. The other open end of the Nylex soaker must be covered with a GD Watermark 3/4" Poly Irrigation Plug. Please make sure to use plumber's tape on the plug to get a good seal.

Therefore, the sequence goes:

  • One end of the Nylex soaker goes to the garden tap

  • Another end attaches to the Snap-on coupler

  • The second hose's adapter attaches to the other end of the coupler

  • The end of the second hose is plugged up with an irrigation plug.

I hope this clears up the confusion.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.
