How to fix leak in Pope clamped end hose?

Hi,

We have a 20m Pope hose with a clamped end. The water leaks out the bottom and down the hose.

Is there a way to fix this? Normally I'd just change the attachment at the end of the hose but he clamped end is beating me.

Is there an o-ring that I can change or do I have to cut the end of the hose and put on a new fitting?

Thanks.

Re: Leak in a Pope clamped end hose

Hello @GreenGardener

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your Pope garden hose.

Unfortunately, the fixed fitting on your hose can't be repaired. I suggest cutting the old fitting and replacing it with a new Pope 12mm Comfort Grip Hose Connector. My best advice is to make sure that the cut is straight and level.

Please remember to wear personal protection such as gloves when using a sharp blade to cut the hose.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Re: Leak in a Pope clamped end hose

Before you cut the fitting off - what's the condition of the O-ring on the tap?

Could this be the source of the leaking?

Re: Leak in a Pope clamped end hose

I'm not sure where the o-ring is meant to be.
From the picture - is the o-ring in the brass fitting that screws onto the tap or in the orange section at the end of the tap (that clips onto the brass fitting?)

Thanks

Re: Leak in a Pope clamped end hose

The O-ring sits on the end of the brass fitting on the tap @GreenGardener.
