Re: Fill gap around rangehood and ceiling

Hi @Sath,

You could try and recreate the cornice and ceiling sheet with plaster filler. It will take some time to get it just right. Make sure to protect the stainless ducting whilst sanding the filler to shape. I'd recommend applying several layers of painter's tape. Alternatively, running a timber bead around the top could work quite well. Something like 31 x 11mm Pine moulding should suit. You'd want it to be slightly taller than the cornice and about the same thickness as the gaps.

Any remaining gaps after you've installed the timber can be filled with silicone gap filler.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Hi @Sath

Did you end up repairing this gap, and if so how did it go? I’ve got the same problem 😆

Hi @carlyg

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us.

Let me tag @Sath as well to make sure they see your question. Either suggested repair method would work on the damaged area. Even a combination of the repair methods would work on the ceiling. Let's wait for Sath to confirm what method they used on the ceiling. It would be interesting to see what the repaired ceiling looks like.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.
