How to replace faucet head?

IMG_2374.jpeg

I removed the faucet head from the kitchen tap to clean it because the holes seemed a little blocked and the button to switch between spray and stream was sticking, but now the button won’t go back in. I think I should just replace the faucet head, but there’s no brand name on the tap so I have no idea what to get! Any suggestions?

Re: How to replace faucet head?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @diyfailer. It's great to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about replacing a tap head.

You could potentially try to order a replacement faucet head from one of our companies that supplies pullout kitchen taps. We also stock the Kinetic WELS 5 Star 6L/min Chrome Bell Style Pull Down Spray Head and Kinetic WELS 4 Star 7.5L/min Chrome Conical Pull Down Dual Spray Head. While there is a good chance a replacement head with the same thread size might screw on, it might not sit neatly in your spout. Sometimes, the practical solution is to replace the entire tap with a new one, especially if you want it to function smoothly. There are quite a few budget-friendly options, like the Estilo 35mm Chrome WELS 5 Star 6L/min Coil Dual Function Tall Pull Down Sink Mixer.

Alternatively, if you can manage to take some close-up photos of the internal mechanism of the head where the switch fits, as well as the back of the switch itself, our helpful community members may be able to give you guidance on how to reassemble it.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
