Kitchen renovation

Kitchen renovation

I inherited an ugly kitchen when I bought my house a couple of years ago.

I finally got around to doing something about it.  Initially I got quotes for the replacement of the benchtops,  but I quickly learnt that I was not happy paying the premium they were after and decided to do it all myself.

The cupboards and kitchen island were painted with White Knight Renew primer and then the too coats were done with Dulex Renovation Range (Natural White) to brighten it up.

I then put the new benchtops on (Bunnings Soyanut),  installed new cooktop, sink and tap and I have a much nicer looking and bright kitchen that I am very happy with.

I also re-tiled with stick on tiles which look great.

Pictures attached will show the upgrade.

Re: Kitchen Reno

Hello @WoodenGregsWood

Thank you very much for sharing photos of your kitchen revamp. You must be very happy with the results. The new benchtop and the newly painted doors have really transformed the entire look of the kitchen. The light colour of the cabinets has made it look like a much bigger kitchen. The benchtop gives a nice contrast to the white colour of the cabinets.

Again, thank you for sharing your beautiful kitchen makeover.

Hi Greg

Congrats your kitchen looks fabulous I desperately want to change my bench tops from the old grey laminate I currently have but as a pensioner I can't pay the prices they quote, would love to have a go but am I right in saying that you have to be spot on with measurements and then get them cut to size at Bunnings? I have the stove and sink like in your pictures but I don't have a separate island bench but an L shape bench.  Thank you  Evie

Re: Kitchen Reno

Hello @NanaEvie

Let me tag @WoodenGregsWood to make them aware of your kind words and questions. Your assessment is spot on, you'll need the exact measurements of your benchtop if you want to replace it. I suggest speaking to your store's In-store kitchen specialist, they'll be able to quote your benchtop and offer you alternatives for benchtop installation.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

@NanaEvie

Hi Evie,

Thanks for your kind words.

As Eric has already said the measurements do need to be accurate in order for the replacement benchtops to fit properly.

I originally got quotes from businesses that were thousands of dollars more than the price I got from Bunnings.   Have a chat to them in store and they will help you in your quest.

Cheers

Greg
