Hi all - my flooring was stained when my pet had a little accident there. I'm not in the position to sand it back, and would like to fix it a different way if possible.
Also I believe the flooring is laminate, but it also appears to be made from real wood, or is this laminate? Sorry I'm a bit of a novice with this stuff.
What would be the best course of action here?
Thanks!
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @alex456. It's brilliant to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about floor stains.
Sorry to hear about the staining on your floor. It’s a bit tricky to see the extent of the damage from the photo, and I completely understand that stains can be difficult to capture clearly in a picture. If you're able to upload a close-up or different angle that shows the stain more clearly, that would definitely help our community members offer more targeted advice.
As for the flooring, it’s also not entirely clear from the image what it’s made from. It could possibly be a hybrid vinyl plank, but if it has a real timber layer, it might be engineered timber flooring. Once we have a better idea of the flooring type and how severe the stain is, we’ll be in a much better position to recommend the best approach to repair or disguise the damage without needing to sand it back.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Mitchell
Hi Mitchell,
Thanks for the quick response, and for the info. I've looked into the two types you suggested, and I believe we have engineered timber flooring as it's definitely real wood and there is no uniform pattern across the whole floor.
I've uploaded a few more images, it's a bit hard to get a good shot because of the furniture in the way, but hopefully they are okay.
Thanks, Alex.
