Hi,
I am painting walls in my apartment and would like the metal door frames to match the walls. What is the best approach ? I started sanding the door frames. Are there specific primers for metal door frames, which allow me to use the wall paint on top? Also, would you recommend brush/roller/spray gun?
Thank you
Hi @ToW,
There's no need for any specialised primer or paint, you can just use a standard primer such as Dulux 1Step Prep Primer, Sealer & Undercoat, then paint over it with your wall paint.
I'd recommend using a combination of a roller and a brush for your door frame. You can use a sash cutter brush for cutting in to the corners, then go over everything else with a roller with a 10mm nap.
Check out How to paint trims for some guidance. As you are using the same paint for the frame as the wall, there'd be no need to tape things off, but the rest of the process is the same.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
