How to secure a freestanding headboard to an ensemble base?

Hi, I've purchased a freestanding headboard for the bed but  I don't know how to secure it so it doesn't tip? Can you please suggest what bolts or screws I need  for an ensemble bed base or do I need brackets?

I really appreciate your Saturday arvo idea, and thank you so much for providing the diagram. It has given me a clear visual representation of where exactly to install the frame. I've considered the brackets, but wondering about the best way to attach them to both the headboard and the frame itself. This sounds like a good plan; I'll try it!
