Hi team, I'm looking for advice on transforming my current built it robes from swinging to sliding doors.
The current BIR opening is 1650w x 2050h and the jambs are 110x30mm rebated. https://www.bunnings.com.au/110-x-30mm-5-4m-door-jamb-internal-single-rebated-white-primed-fj-pine_p...
looking for advice on what timber to use to replace the current jamb with a flat piece (current ones I see on Bunnings website are h3 treated which seems unnecessary for an indoor project)
The other option would be to take a multitool and chisel to the current stopper part of the jamb but I will probably need to fill the hinge gaps and it seems like a lot of stuffing around.
lastly, is it recommended to use bottom rollers for 2x 820 doors or will this be ok? https://www.bunnings.com.au/cowdroy-2400mm-quick-fix-door-track-set_p3981776
thanks
Hi @SatchmoAu,
For a project like this, you'd typically use untreated DAR pine for the jamb replacement. Any idea what width and thickness you'd need?
You don’t need a bottom roller for your 2 × 820 mm sliding doors, but do make sure to use the plastic fin locators to keep the doors running smoothly and correctly aligned.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks for the prompt advice.
I’m hoping that 89x19 would be suitable if once the jambs are removed the space left is something like 1700. I can go with 870 doors to get the correct width overhang.
If I was to go the bottom rollers instead of the top, would you say that https://www.bunnings.com.au/cowdroy-3240mm-4-robemaker-door-track-set-white_p0383622?srsltid=AfmBOoq... is suitable for a 2 door system also?
Hello @SatchmoAu
The Cowdroy 3240mm 4 Robemaker Door Track Set White should work nicely with your wardrobe cabinet. Please keep in mind that you can get custom sized wardrobe doors from Hume Doors. My best advice is to double check the size that you need before proceeding to the special orders team in the store. Tell them what you plan to do, and they will quote you the door cost and the turnaround time.
